One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Saturday afternoon in Derry. According to officials, 43-year-old Christopher Coppola was shot and killed by a Derry police officer during an armed confrontation where a man reportedly fired a shotgun at his neighbors.The initial report came in at 2:15 Saturday afternoon in the area of Olde Coach Road and 28 Bypass.During the confrontation three Derry Police officers fired their weapons and say that Coppola was not the man holding a shotgun. Officials are unclear about what led to the initial incident and if Coppola was ever armed.The AG’s office says they do not have anyone in custody.None of the Derry officers had body cams, but authorities are reviewing dashcam footage and audio from police cruisers. An autopsy will be performed on the victim Sunday morning to determine the official cause of death.
