Crash on Route 24 in Brockton leaves 1 dead, several injured

One person is dead and several others are injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 24 in Brockton, according to the city’s deputy fire chief.The deputy fire chief said three vehicles were involved in the crash that Massachusetts State Police officials said happened at about 2:35 am south of Exit 33 (Route 27) on Route 24 south.Officials said one person involved in the crash was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was transported to Boston Medical Center with serious, life-threatening injuries.The Brockton deputy fire chief said several other people who were involved in the crash were transported to area hospitals.Video from the scene of the crash showed that at least two of the vehicles involved, a white pickup truck and a white sedan, had to be towed off Route 24. The deputy fire chief said it was not raining at the time of the crash, and state police said they are still investigating what caused the crash.The crash scene was cleared by 6 am, according to state police.
