Missing 21-year old’s body found at Lake Hartwell

The body of a missing 21-year-old has been found, according to Chief Jorge Campos from the Clemson Police Department.On Tuesday, the wallet of Andruw Earnhardt was found at Lake Hartwell.On Sunday around 9:30 am, officers with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, who were helping with the search of Lake Hartwell, located the body of a male on the Oconee County side of the lake, Campos said.Campos said the body was turned over to the Oconee County coroner, Carl Addis, for identification confirmation and to further investigate the cause of death.Preliminary indications are that this is the body of Andruw Earnhardt, 21, who was reported missing to the Clemson Police Department on Feb. 25, Campos said. The Clemson Police Department, with the assistance of the Pickens County Emergency Management, Oconee County Emergency Management and the SC Department of Natural Resources have been searching Lake Hartwell since Monday after evidence was obtained that suggested Earnhardt may have been in that area around the time of his disappearance, Campos said.Detectives with Clemson Police Department will work with the Oconee County Corner to investigate the manner and cause of death, Campos saidChief Campos and the members of the Clemson Police Department express our condolences to the Earnhardt family during this very trying time , Campos said.
