Gwyneth Paltrow invests in weed drink company Cann despite babysitting its founder when he just two

Gwyneth Paltrow has invested in a marijuana drink company owned by Luke Anderson, after being his babysitter when he was just two-years-old.

The actress, 49, is backing cannabis-infused Cann, which cannot be sold in the co-founder’s home state of New York where recreational weed is illegal under federal law.

Luke, who once shared a Manhattan neighborhood with Gwyneth, hilariously told the New York Post: ‘She used to change my diapers and now she supports me in selling drugs.’

Despite the success story, he was not able to win her over with his pitch of the sparkling beverage – which gets consumers ‘high’ – when they first re-united in February 2020.

The entrepreneur told how the Hollywood star gushed, ‘Oh my God, you’re that kid I used to babysit a lot!’ after he jogged her memory about her job as a 16-year-old.

Despite the promising connection, Luke was left ‘heartbroken’ after she rejected his proposal because it ‘was barely working’ and not getting enough traction.

Vowing not to let the setback ruin his dreams, he bagged another meeting with The Sliding Doors actress over FaceTime just months later.

He showed her the growth of his product due to the closure of bars and restaurants amid the coronavirus pandemic and worldwide restrictions.

The Oscar winner helped raise initial capital through a $ 5 million seed round, becoming Luke’s biggest celebrity investor that year.

She is now among 30 famous brand ambassadors and investors for Cann, which include Ruby Rose, Rebel Wilson, Darren Criss and Baron Davis.

The beverage, which Luke founded in 2019 alongside his business partner Jake Bullock, can only be bought by residents in six US states – Arizona, California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Nevada.

It comes in flavors including lemon lavender and grapefruit rosemary, while containing 2 mg of THC and 4 mg of CBD, which is considered a low dosage.

Gwyneth – who founded lifestyle blog Goop in 2008 – is certainly not one shy away from controversy, having previously advised readers to purchase a $ 15,000 24k gold vibrator and vaginal jade eggs.

She has also turned her attention to the world of BDSM and, last year, sold a nude underwear set alongside a black whip (currently on sale for $ 72).

The lingerie set’s product description read: ‘Handmade in England, this saddle leather bra is what BDSM fantasies are made of.’

Gwyneth first released her $ 75 This Smells Like My Vagina candle in January 2020, revealing that the home fragrance started out as a joke between her and a perfumer.

However, the idea stuck, and the candle became a major success, the website currently offers a ‘prenup’ and an ‘orgasm’ version.

Gwyneth wanted Goop readers to have lots of sex during the last Christmas season – even if they’re alone.

The actress released her annual holiday gift guide, and there was an entire shopping category called ‘The Lover’s Gift Guide’ packed with lingerie, massage oils, and multiple vibrators.

In fact, Gwyneth and co. recommended 10 different vibrators, including one that creates ‘sucking sensations’ and two that come together in a pricey $ 299 set.

‘Love is in the air. And in the underwear drawer, kitchen, bath, nightstand, ‘the gift guide said.

The Goop staff selected 55 products meant to titillate, from a butt plug to a holistic sex coaching session.

Not all of the items were R-rated – there was also wine, slippers, perfume, jewelry, flowers, cheese, and even a mug – but there were more than enough raunchy presents to raise eyebrows.

The guide included ten vibrators in all, including the Womanizer Premium and the We-Vibe Chorus, which come packaged together in the $ 299 Womanizer Golden Moments Collection.

There was also a pricey $ 180 Lora Dicarlo Onda vibrator, which Goop said ‘makes a come-hither motion like a finger against the vaginal wall.’

There was also the $ 130 Le Wand Double Vibe, the $ 135 The Kit from Tabu – which included a warming vibrator and a lube – and a $ 129 Smile Makers The Poet vibrator, which has air-pulsing technology to create sucking sensations.

Other vibes on the list included the Goop Wellness Ultraplush Self-Heating G-Spot Vibrator, $ 89; the Goop Wellness Double-Sided Wall Vibrator, $ 95; the We-Vibe Touch X, $ 99; and the Dame Products Pom Vibrator, $ 95.

The kink did not end there: There were plenty of other toys and accoutrements for bedroom exploration, including a $ 145 Kiki de Montparnasse butt plug made from stainless steel with a fluffy pom on the end.

The butt plug had a wait list.

There was also a $ 24 lube called Personal Fav Whet Plant-Based Sex Serum, $ 45 massage oil called The Sex Stone, Pulse brand’s $ 199 lube warmer, a $ 250 Kiki de Montparnasse blindfold, and Province Apothecary Lover’s Kit, which for $ 34 comes with massage oil and sex oil.

There was even an $ 89 ‘for trimmer,’ which can actually be used to shave anywhere, as well as Goop Wellness’s $ 55 DTF supplement, which is made with fenugreek to ‘support healthy sexual arousal and desire in women.’

‘We created a supplement to help in a few ways,’ Gwyneth said. ‘We’re living in a world where we’re so busy, we have so many responsibilities, and it’s hard sometimes to turn off that alpha thing and get into sex mode.’
