Star Trek’s own captain James T. Kirk, just recently returned from his trip to space with Jeff Bezos, will attend Fan Expo Canada here in Toronto this month.
Given previous cancellations about COVID, the event is the first Fan Expo since August 2019 and will be held at the Metro Convention Center from October 22-24.
Shatner, 90, and George Takei, 84, who played Sulu, represent Star Trek at the flag event; Shatner starred in the original 1966-69 television series and remains one of the most well-known and beloved characters in the series.
The Fan Expo press release says you can get a Shat autograph for $ 100 and a photo-up for $ 105 where prices are subject to change.
Fan Expo lineup this year includes Robbie Amell (Lightning) , James Masters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who).
More celebs and guests will be announced next week.
Organizers say there are limited tickets for the weekend events and attendees must show proof of vaccination and adhere to all safety protocols.
The Shat itself was blown into space in earnest on Wednesday aboard a rocket ship built by Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin company. Bezos is a giant big one Star Trek fan.
